Today (Thursday) we have a moderate mix of NW and SW ground swell along the California coast. Size drops off more Friday, and Saturday doesn't looking all that exciting either. A stormy low should stir up some less than favorable wind swell sometime on Sunday, peaking Monday. Not a whole lot else to talk about today with only some minor blips on the radar row, all relying on how models deal with a Gulf system for the 26th, and a possible WestPac system for the 29th. Condition-wise, an onshore flow is gaining ground, ensuing even more throughout the weekend. Winds could get nasty rather quick on Saturday, and Sunday could even see some rain.
Currently, NW periods are running 12 seconds from 310 degrees, and southerly energy is coming in from 180 with 12-second periods as well.
In SoCal, most all breaks are seeing waist to chest high waves.
Northern California and the Central Coast are seeing sets running slightly overhead around most west facing breaks, chest+ at south facing spots.
The tide was high around 4:30 AM at about 4 feet, drops to a near-zero low around 1:00 PM, and then goes high around 8:00 PM at about 3.3 feet.
Water temps are averaging 59 in SD, 59 in OC, 58 in LA, 58 in VC, 58 in SB, 55 along the Central Coast and 55 in NCal.
